PAC Coaches Select
Eagles as Women’s Lacrosse Pre-Season Favorite
Aston, Pa. – Eastern University’s women’s lacrosse
team has been selected as the pre-season favorite in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) coaches’ poll. The two-time
defending PAC champions received six of the eleven possible first-place votes,
for a total of 115 points. They finished ahead of perennial favorite Cabrini College.
The Eagles have won the last two PAC championship games, defeating Cabrini both times.
“We are
honored that the PAC Coaches have selected us as the pre-season favorites,”
said Eastern head coach, Camrin
Azzarano. “We are looking forward to a competitive conference season, and to
representing the league as we compete in our non-conference schedule.”
Cabrini earned a total of 115 points,
including five first-place votes, to finish second in the poll. Gwynedd-Mercy
College was selected third with 99 points.
Neumann College (82), Misericordia University (77), Alvernia
(65), Immaculata (45), College of Notre Dame (41), Centenary College (38), Cedar Crest College (27), and Marywood University (22) rounded out
the voting.
The PAC Championship begins with
first-round play on Saturday, April 26th. The PAC Championship game is set for Saturday, May 3rd
